From Crete to the Suez: The Voyage Changes Here
Crete was more than just a stop — it was a turning point.
After sailing into the crystal-clear waters of Crete, Carston climbs the mast before showing her skills beneath the surface, cleaning the bottom of the boat in water too beautiful to rush. It’s our last truly safe swim, our last easy moment, before the voyage ahead becomes far more serious.
With few stops remaining and increasing risks on the road to Dubai, we say goodbye to comfort and set our sights on the Suez Canal. Sailing towards the Suez, after 45 days of trying, the ocean finally rewards us — our first fish of the journey.
This is where the adventure changes.

Bums on a Boat is a story. It starts with reckless abandon, throwing all caution to the wind. Just bloody go for it and see what happens. It's not pretty but it sure is exciting. We wanted to live an alternative way of life, no more 9 to 5, no more playing by the rules. This is adventure, sailing with no previous experience, fixing a sailboat with no skills and sailing the world with little money. Living as if there really were no tomorrow. Feeling freedom in the mind and body. Look how we want, talk how we want and live how we want. Everything has a price. Love became a beautiful part of this story but it ended in heartbreak.
