Docking a boat is one of the most crucial skills for any boater, but let’s be honest—it can be a bit nerve-wracking! In this throwback episode of Boating Journey, we’re rewinding to when Ally learned how to dock both of our former boats: the Bayliner Ciera 3055 and the Bayliner 4087.

Most boat owners, especially couples, tend to have specific roles on board. While I was the primary captain, it was important that Ally could confidently handle the boat, too—because you never know when you’ll need a backup at the helm! Learning to dock is all about practice, patience, and communication, and in this episode, you’ll see just how much Ally progressed on her journey.

Thanks for following our Boating Journey. We sold our home, our business and our first boat so we could move onto a liveaboard boat. We sold our 2002 Bayliner 4087 Aft Cabin MY that we moored at Elliott Bay Marina in July 2020 during the pandemic. In 2022, we moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL to be closer to boating opportunities. Our goal is to find a liveaboard slip within the next year and also share with our viewers different ways to can spend time on the water if you don't own a boat. We travel to the Caribbean every year and for 2022, we have chartered a bare boat catamaran and we're headed to the BVIs. Stay tuned!
