Our DIY sailboat projects begin on our Morgan 382 - and the struggle is real. And while 47 days may seem like a lot, when you factor in a typical 5 day work week, busy schedules, and one boat partner who lives in Vermont, it doesn't leave a whole lot of boat workdays and we have a ton to do! The projects are numerous and in this episode I tackle a lazarette project and attempt to remove the forward hatch which leaked in our inaugural season in 2022. I have never removed a sailboat hatch before and was expecting a fight to the death. Our launch date is set for June 2nd with our first race on June 17th. So the heat is on! Big work weekend set for April 28th with my two boat fool partners - so you'll finally get to meet the third member of this crew.

The diesel class I took was fantastic. Here is the link: https://narragansettsailingschool.com/other-cruising-boating-school/diesel-course/
If you're not 100% comfortable around your marine diesel, I highly recommend this course or something similar. We stripped down a Yanmar to its block and reassembled it over the two-day class. I am a hands-on learner and this was perfect for me. Classes are limited to 5 people (we had 4) so everyone got a chance to get their hands dirty.
I am NOT being paid to promote this course. I simply loved it and want to share the information.
Next week we'll be tackling the Top 10 Sailboats in Maine for Sale Under $50K. This is near the top end of where we'll go, not only because we're budget conscious but also because we have work to do!
