A GREAT Liveaboard SAILBOAT! This 1987 Island Packet 38 is ready to go now at $65,000!
We loved this sailboat, and for the price of $65,000 (OBRO), we think this is an opportunity if you're looking for a proven ocean cruiser. There is a survey available for review from October 2022. This is not to say you shouldn't get your own, but this would give you a baseline for what the surveyor found from two years ago. She is big, she is solid, and she is clean. And the sellers, who have owned this sailboat for 17 years, are super nice people. They have sailed LOST HORIZON back and forth from the Bahamas to Maine several times and are selling her now because they own three businesses and simply no longer have the time to enjoy her. Removed all hoses, sanded and painted all lockers with oil based paint, replaced all hoses
Replaced water pump, muffler and hose and bilge pump
Engine- new oil cooler, all new hoses, starter rebuild and alternator rebuild
Replaced all faucets
Replaced hot water heater
Replaced cushions with factory Island Packet new throughout boat
Added cockpit cushions from Island Packet
Sent rudder to IP factory to rebuild
Replaced all original hatches with Lewmar ocean hatches
Added radar
Built extra battery box/ Added 2 Lifeline batteries
Dodger and sail cover fabricated by local canvas specialist
Custom curtains for all ports
