Too much weight on the KEEL?? Boat Repairs and a Trip to Santo Domingo (S2E42Barefoot Sail and Dive)
In this episode of Barefoot Sail and Dive we continue with the boat repairs! We also take a quick trip to Santo Domingo, the capitol of the Dominican Republic. Santo Domingo is a huge city. We stayed in the colonial district it was absolutely beautiful. It reminded us both of a city in Malaysia called George Town.
Being such a large city Santo Domingo has a lot of different shops. We found Residom which is the main supplier for resin in the DR. We bought 15 galleons of epoxy. The stuff isn’t cheap but it’s the best for the repairs we need to do under the water line. Hopefully 15 galleons will be enough for our repairs and on Little Sister. We will see.
Is there too much weight on the keel?? This is a question we’ve looked at before. On the starboard side it looks like the keel may be pushing up a bit. We have a plan to remove all weight from the keel.
