Sailing North along British Columbia’s incredible Inside Passage, some of the best cruising grounds in the world lie just beyond a series of challenging tidal passes.. the Discovery Islands are a labyrinth of beautiful forested islands, inlets and anchorages between Vancouver Island and the BC mainland coast that are surrounded by treacherous tidal passes that make sailing here difficult. The strong tidal currents create rapids and whirlpools that can be prrretty scary if you don’t time the tide right.
This week we navigate our small sailboat & floating home thru the last of these treacherous rapids on our way to the incredible cruising grounds of the Northern BC Coast
