Life aboard our Catalina 30 sailboat has been extremely busy these past couple of weeks...

One of the main obstacles I came across when deciding to move aboard our Catalina 30 sailboat was “how will we get our mail?!”. It seems simple, but important!

We can’t believe it has been 1 year since moving aboard our Catalina 30 sailboat. It has been a year of learning and growth as we figure out boat life.

This week I got off the boat and explored the ocean in a slightly different way - by going on a surf trip! We explore Tofino and the surrounding area, surfing.

Taking you inland this week where I go visit Jonas and we spend a weekend in a cabin in the forest. We have a surprise third mate join the crew too!

We go on a different kind of sailing adventure this week and break out the old laser 2 sailboat! I show you where my sailing journey began...

And the laser sailing continues! But this time in some bigger winds… we even pulled out the trapeze harness!

This week was spent 'catching up', so I take you along for a day in my life off the boat. I spent the day exploring the lake and hanging out with the wildlife.

This project turned into a much bigger ordeal than I had planned. While tearing up the old laminate flooring in the boat I found a very unpleasant surprise...

We finally took Blue Moon out for a day sail. We had light winds and clear skies which made for a perfect sail!

We couldn’t have asked for a better day to take our Catalina 30 sailboat out for a sail! The winds were light but still enough to fill Blue Moon’s sails.

Winter van life has some unique struggles, and as the seasons change from fall to winter we are finding fewer and fewer places to park the van for the night.

Once again, Quebec City proved to be a difficult place to stay in so we set up camp in a Walmart parking lot - our new favourite last minute campsite.

This was pretty cool... We drove our van across the ocean floor at low tide to explore an Island, cut off from land at high tide!

Our van broke down 7000 km away from home in what felt like the middle of nowhere. We almost made it to Nova Scotia but broke down on the side of the highway.
