RUNNING OUT OF FUEL in the middle of the South Atlantic! There’s been a few times in my life when I have thought to myself, Robin, you need some luck here. This was one of them…
The sail to South Africa across the Atlantic, gives us calm weather as well as squalls and hectic seas! In the middle of the South Atlantic, we start running out of fuel!
We radio a passing ship and request some fuel if they can spare. The captain aboard the vessel, who was sailing on a route in the South Atlantic, stopped, altered course and came to our rescue.
Running out of fuel is something I never want to experience again and will be fully prepared in the future!
