Our LITHIUM Build! - Sailing Turtle

With our propshaft removed, we started our waiting game on the hard. Unfortunately, a day after our propshaft was removed, our batteries decided to die on us. So we jumped into the biggest project we’ve done on the boat and something that we’d hoped to do anyway in the future. Our grand Lithium build! Slowly and steadily, we did our research and our electrical education and removed the four old house batteries and one starter battery and replaced them with six Relion lithium batteries and the Odyssey AGM starter battery. We extended the platform they were housed on, put them in all new battery cases and ran all new cabling for them. And just like, after a week of long hours, we were finished with our Lithium build!

An unexpected surprise for this week was all the friends we made. It was wonderful to meet cruisers from all walks of life, each with their unique stories on how they got on a boat and their hopes and dreams for themselves. As the days get closer to another splash, we are re-energized (both metaphorically and literally) to get out there and live our life.
