FIRST SAIL OF OUR RECENTLY EXSALVAGED BENETEAU 49! (Technically it’s a couple inches shy of being a 50 foot sailboat) Woohoo! Lots to learn on this boat, but man was it fun 😀 Getting to this point has been MONTHS of hard work. So much blood, sweat, and tears have been poured into getting this boat back on the water. We wanted today to be perfect, and it really was. We hummed along at 6kts with just the main out, and it was magic. Turning off the engine and feeling the boat lean into the wind…amazing.
Thank you all for your support along the way. We have a lot to learn and made many mistakes on this project – and many even on this first sail! But that’s ok and honestly the way we like it. Should we have done the lines different, taken off rings, buttoned up the enclosure better, etc. Sure. But no regrets on today – absolutely amazing!
