I'm Juho, and I'm now sailing and skiing in Northern Norway. I live aboard my sailboat s/y Sylvia and am currently spending my second winter here.

We sail on to Norway, then along the Norwegian coast to the fjords above the Arctic Circle. I spent the spring refitting s/y Sylvia and finally moving aboard.

What's it like to live a board sail above the Arctic Circle through the whole winter? The whale watching is great and there's lots of humpbacks and orcas.

Living aboard a boat and sailing through the winter can be a bit challenging, low pressure systems come in frequently and bring lots of snow and cold.

A few typical days of sailing and skiing in the spring. This video was shot far above the Arctic Circle in northern Norway.

Arctic sailing continued! Solo sailing in the wintertime. The winter weather in Norway might be a bit unstable, but I got used to sailing while it's snowing...

In this video, I'll go through the advantages and disadvantages of diesel boat heaters, and I'll try to give you tips for using them in the most efficient way.

While sailing along the coast of Norway we came across this curious beluga whale. You can also hear some underwater whale sounds in this video.

We sail to Svalbard, a 4-day ocean crossing, dodging some drift ice and bad weather. My first real ocean sailing outside of the Baltic Sea.

We sail to a small fishing village, do some night navigation, anchor in a protected bay, and go for hikes. Sohvi comes to visit for a week of sailing.

Solo winter sailing ⛵❄. I get into sudden rough weather while sailing inside the fjords and encounter some humpbacks (huge!) & orcas up close.

During a winter storm s/y Sylvia unfortunately got some damage under the waterline. Doing the repairs in freezing temperatures turned out to be a bit of a task.

We're sailing to Hammerfest, have some trouble with the genoa halyard, and experience a couple of big snowstorms. Also included sailing on snow (kite skiing)!

We moor our boat in small bays quite often, using shore lines. In this video, I talk about all the techniques and gear we use to tie to the shore!

This time we're setting off for some winter sailing (& skiing), but end up escaping a storm to a more suitable anchorage.

Sailing and (mostly) skiing north of the Arctic Circle. One of our typical days! (Except for the weather, which was better than usual).

We sail but end up seasick, lose a couple of fenders to a winter storm and spend some time dodging copious amounts of reindeer poop.

Sometimes when you sail in the north you just have to stop for a good old traditional Finnish drink and pick up some plastic trash from the beach.

Sailing solo to Senja, Norway.

Hello everyone and thank you for watching! This time we're sailing & skiing on the island of Senja.

This time I'm first sailing solo to Vesterålen, where Sohvi, Kuutti and Viiri join me for the passage to Lofoten islands. We're greeted by an orca calf.

We cross the Moskstraumen on our way from the inner to the outer Lofoten Islands. It's a complex system of tidal currents and whirlpools - "The Maelstrom".

We eat a lot of fish on board s/y Sylvia and here's a few tips that make catching fish really easy.

After two years of sailing very far up north, we now sail southbound across the Arctic Circle! We're now in Helgeland!

This time we'll sail to three different places that all have been abandoned for one reason or another.

This time we're sailing to some of the outermost tiny islands in the Norwegian archipelago!

Last winter I got the chance to do something I've planned for a long time, a week long solo expedition in Northern Finland.
